San Gabriel River – The San Gabriel River has seen a great spring thus far and we still have many weeks of wonderful fishing ahead of us! The South Fork of the Gabe is running crystal clear and sunfish are a dime a dozen! We fished it recently and had over 80+ fish between two anglers and that was in less than four hours of fishing! Hoppers and Spiders are a mainstay but small streamers and damsels will get it done on the deeper fish. If the going gets really tough just throw something small with legs (size 14-16) and that should do the trick! We have heard some great reports from the main Gabe after the merge in Georgetown, most of the fish counts are very encouraging considering how terrible the drought was last year. Bass are taking a variety of streamers and craw patterns — drop by the shop for the latest patterns.
